New Data Released: RETA Distributed Leadership for Middle School Mathematics Education

The Education Research Data Sharing Initiative, an AERA-ICPSR Partnership, has released three new studies that comprise the RETA Distributed Leadership for Middle School Mathematics Education: Content Area Leadership Expertise in Practice Series.

Focusing on day-to-day leadership in mathematics education, the RETA series aimed to design and validate research instruments that would illuminate such leadership and track its evolution over time.  Two of these studies were conducted in the Chicago Public Schools, collecting both quantitative and qualitative data on school staff social networking, and one quantitative study was conducted in the Lincoln Public Schools, also on school staff social networking.

Visit the study homepages for more information:

Explore the features of ICPSR's redesigned Web site

Every two or three years, ICPSR re-evaluates how we can best serve our membership, and redesigns our Web site accordingly. Our new site launched Tuesday, September 4, and includes many new features and improvements, such as:
  • separate sites based on different user goals: Find and Analyze Data, Deposit Data, Membership in ICPSR, Data Management, the ICPSR Summer Program, and Resources for Instructors
  • changes to the search function including the ability to revise a search more quickly, an auto-complete function in the search box, and several improvements in the search results
  • inclusion of more information on the home page of each study in our repository
  • improvements to bibliography exports
  • the ability to compare characteristics of up to five variables from different studies on the same screen
  • an easier to navigate FAQ section.

More details on the redesign can be found here: http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/content/ICPSR/redesign.html
